Dangerous Game Safari Raffle with The DSC Frontline Foundation

It is time to mention yet another wonderful raffle hosted by @raffleready. The DSC Frontline Foundation is raffling off a once in a lifetime Dangerous Game Safari!

TheDSCFF

The mission of the DSC Frontline Foundation is to provide financial relief to professional hunters and their assistants, trackers and skinners who are killed or seriously injured in the course of providing professional hunting services. The individuals we seek to help are often on the frontline of hunts and therefore exposed to the dangers inherent in hunting. These same individuals are unlikely to have adequate, or any, health insurance. They are unlikely to have life insurance or disability coverage. As a result, a serious injury has the potential to be even more devastating to these folks than to most of the rest of us. The death of a primary breadwinner could have equally dire consequences for most of the people we seek to help.

The DSC Frontline Foundation recognizes that for many hunters the quality of the adventure is due in large part to the quality and experience of the guide or outfitter. This is particularly true in the case of international hunting adventures and big game trips. It is critical to have guides and outfitters (and assistants) who have experience, and gaining that experience often involves working under harsh and dangerous conditions. With experience comes increased risk of serious injury or death.

In order to provide some relief for injuries or some compensation for the survivors of those who are killed, and to help insure that those who are injured can return to professional hunting the Foundation desires to establish a fund from which distributions to qualified individuals can be made.

ASBC

The mission of the Autism Society of Boulder County (ASBC) is to help individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families develop a strong, united community by creating opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and build new relationships. We support continuing education among local service providers, schools and families, and are building programs for adolescent and adult populations to expand their opportunities.

Founded in 2001 as a parent support group, ASBC evolved into a local affiliate of the national Autism Society and supports families and autism professionals in Boulder and Broomfield Counties in Colorado. We are a volunteer-run, charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that relies on donations and proceeds from an annual fundraiser to fund our activities, support groups and various grants.

We are a registered charity with the Colorado Secretary of State under the name Autism Society of America — Boulder County Chapter. Our Board is elected during the ASBC annual meeting, which takes place each May.

The ASBC offers free services and support to an estimated 2,000 family members and autism professionals in our local community through education and awareness programs, bi-monthly e-newsletters, resource referrals and grants that go directly to families in need.

Dont miss your chance to be a part of this life changing organization!

Pricing raffle tickets

Many factors go into properly pricing raffle tickets. Here are a few things to think about before pricing your raffle tickets:

1.What is the value of the prize?

2. What price range are your potential donors willing to donate?

3.Will the ticket price allow you to reach your goal?

Let’s look at an example: The ABC School wants to raise $50,000. The ABC School has 500 families and anticipates selling ticket packages to 1,500 different donors. A simple math equation will tell you if everyone of the 1,500 donors buys only 1 ticket, you will need to charge $33 a ticket ($50,000/1,500=$33). Depending on the prize you may feel $33 is too steep for your donors. So lets take a look as a simple resolution; volume packages.

It is always beneficial to offer volume packages. Most donors when viewing a fundraising page with 5 different raffle packages tend to purchase the second or middle package. If the ABC School were to charge $20 for 1 ticket, 3 for $50, 6 for $80, 10 for $100 20 for $150 they can still easily reach their goal because many donors will elect to increase their donation above the bottom option.

What are Raffles?

Raffles are a way of raising money by selling tickets for a chance to win a prize. These tickets are then drawn at random to choose the winner.

Raffle’s date back to the beginning of human civilization. Even before tickets could be printed and way before you could hold an electronic drawing, The Old Testament states that Moses used a lottery to award land West of the Jordan to his people. Since then ancient Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all ran some sort of raffles for themselves and their people.

The idea of using raffles to raise funds caught on strong after these pioneers first introduced raffles to their cultures. In today’s world, Raffle Ready has created an easy way to run raffles, while generating maximum profits.

Raffles usually require a lot of man power to process all of the donor/ticket data, however. For non-profit organizations, raffles are often the most effective fundraising method because everyone likes the chance to win a prize, while helping a good cause. However; many nonprofits struggle with a lack of time and resources needed to manage a raffle, that is why nonprofits across the country are turning to Raffle software programs to automate their raffle fundraiser. Next time your organization is considering running a raffle, calculate your complete raffle costs and call Raffle Ready to see how they can help.
