The mission of the Autism Society of Boulder County (ASBC) is to help individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families develop a strong, united community by creating opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and build new relationships. We support continuing education among local service providers, schools and families, and are building programs for adolescent and adult populations to expand their opportunities.
Founded in 2001 as a parent support group, ASBC evolved into a local affiliate of the national Autism Society and supports families and autism professionals in Boulder and Broomfield Counties in Colorado. We are a volunteer-run, charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that relies on donations and proceeds from an annual fundraiser to fund our activities, support groups and various grants.
We are a registered charity with the Colorado Secretary of State under the name Autism Society of America — Boulder County Chapter. Our Board is elected during the ASBC annual meeting, which takes place each May.
The ASBC offers free services and support to an estimated 2,000 family members and autism professionals in our local community through education and awareness programs, bi-monthly e-newsletters, resource referrals and grants that go directly to families in need.
